Reliquaries of Empires Dust is a response to an accelerating age of information with palpable cause and effect, wherein lies an increasing speedway of news and heightened coverage of issues of crippling magnitude,wherein lay the collapse of global circuits, from wars, monetary, social and environmental mono-systems, multi-systems, ecosystems and the redefining of lines of geopolitics. All intrinsically linked, this has become a viral down turn-on the brink of collapse and reinvention. A penultimate new order coalescing like a clot during this, the system of a down, and a time of macro introspection and the need for reinvention of archaen networks now failed. The blurprint of the circus is over. The phoenix is stirring.

Opening on Berlin Gallery Weekend from May 1-3 2009 the exhibition will open to a large public and media alike. The exhibition will continue from 1-30 May 2009. Artists from Berlin, London, NYC, Australia and globally have been invited to bring to bare a response to this theme, in form of capsules, encased and spilled to exhibit whitin Museum MAN housed at the BEREZNITSKY GALLERY Berlin under the invitation and auspices of Evgeni Bereznitsky and Marianne Wagner-Simon.

SILVIO DE GRACIA EN LA X BIENAL DE LA HABANA

Entre el 27 de marzo y el 30 de abril se desarrolló en Cuba, la X Bienal de La Habana, uno de los encuentros de mayor relevancia en lo que refiere al arte contemporáneo en la escena latinoamericana, y de gran reconocimiento a nivel internacional. En esta edición, la Décima, la Bienal arribó a sus 25 años de vida, convirtiéndose, junto a la de San Pablo, en una de las más duraderas y prestigiosas del continente. Silvio De Gracia fue uno de los artistas argentinos que representó al país en tan importante acontecimiento artístico. Invitado especialmente por el Consejo Nacional de las Artes Plásticas de Cuba, De Gracia se presentó en el Evento Teórico que, bajo el título "Integración y resistencia en la era global", reunió a algunos de los más destacados críticos, curadores e investigadores de arte contemporáneo del mundo. De Gracia intervino con una ponencia sobre la actualidad del arte de performance en Latinoamérica, la cual ha sido recogida en el libro memoria del evento, en edición bilingüe español-inglés.

On CDOs and Double Clubs is a project on the values of art. Damien Hirst said that: "art is only worth what someone will pay for it", where as Josep Beuys said that real capital is not money but people as the sum of creativity of all individuals. This is an experiment to test these ideas.

Libro - Performance

PERFORMANCE PRESENTE FUTURO

En diciembre pasado se editó el libro-catálogo del evento PERFORMANCE PRESENTE FUTURO, que se realizó en agosto de 2008, en OI FUTURO, en Río de Janeiro, Brasil.

Silvio De Gracia actuó en este evento como curador de una muestra de videoperformance internacional, y además contribuyó con un texto teórico sobre la dimensión electrónica de la performance.

El libro contiene numerosas imágenes del encuentro y recoge los artículos de artistas y curadores como ORLAN (Francia), BIA MEDEIROS (DF), STELARC (Australia), ROSANGELLA LEOTTE (SP), SILVIO DE GRACIA (Argentina) y RICARDO DOMÍNGUEZ (EUA). La publicación se realizó en asociación entre Oi Futuro y la editora Contracapa.
